KWF

Our Work

The KWF is a model-based organization. Rather than working on a single issue, such as healthcare or housing or micro-enterprise, we form partnerships between students and young leaders in Kenya. In the context of these partnerships, community members identify the issues that they believe are important and they work with volunteers in the Kenya to design and implement innovative ways of addressing those issues.

Partnerships
The KWF currently works in partnership with organizations and communities from Europe, USA, Canada & Australia

Chapters
The KWF currently supports active chapters in Diaspora, Kenya colleges and Universities and is actively expanding.

Programs & Projects

The Kenya Welfare Foundation (KWF) assists Kenya development efforts through the main program tracks of Culture and Identity, Human Resource Development , and Capacity-building, and a special relief program of Humanitarian Assistance to the Kenya displace camp community in Nyanza, Rift Valley, Western. Children and youth, the poor, students, and special needs individuals are particularly targeted through both small and large-scale projects.

Since 2006, urgent relief and emergency development projects in health, education, agriculture, micro-projects and housing have been supported under Emergency Programs.

Externally funded, semiautonomous programs within these tracks are the slums upgrading, and rural development Projects.

Beneficiary Organizations
More than 20 (CBO) Community Based organizations large and small, have received grants for implementing development projects or for providing humanitarian relief for Kenya in Nairobi, Central, Rift valley, Coast  and Western, in needy Kenya communities. KWF has also partnered with Kenya ministries and local councils for building or upgrading of schools, village Polytechnics, dispensaries and cultural centers, and equipping hospitals and clinics.
